New Years Resolutions

I did pretty well with my resolutions from last year! I think it helps that I'm writing about it here! Helps to keep you a little more accountable! I lost ALMOST 30lbs! That's probably the most I've ever lost in a years time before! I have a ways to go to get where I want to be but it's a good start! I didn't do so well on my organization! It is something I strive for but never seem to quite achieve! I think I did ok on Quality Family time, is there ever really enough though?!

Did you make resolutions last year? Did you keep them? Are you going to make them again this year?

I've made mine for the New Year! Can you believe it's already 2014? I personally am looking forward to the new year!

Here are my resolutions for the New Year!

HEALTH
Continue to eat Healthy, adding in more seasonal eating.
Continue to Workout, going to the gym @ least 5 days a week

FAMILY
Sunday Family Dinners: every Sunday we will sit down to dinner as a family @ THE TABLE!

Family Game Night: Sundays we play board games or card games.

Screen Free Day: Sundays we put down the phones and iPads and turn off the TVs, we interact with each other or do other things that are screen free!

HOME:
Find a cleaning schedule that works and stick to it!

I will be sharing bits and pieces of this as we go through the year!

Resolution Update #1

So you know those New Years Resolutions I made? Well I’ve been doing pretty good with them! I am eating healthier, drinking LOTs of water and getting some exercise in. We just joined the YMCA and I’m excited to get started with all the programs that they offer! Zumba anyone?! I’ve not lost a lot of weight but that’s ok, it’s been a little stressful this past month and our routine has been all kinds of chaotic! Now that the Hubster has deployed, Man-child and I are trying to settle into our routine.
I’ve not done a ton on the Organizing front, I did get my closet organized! YAY right? And the Garage sort of got organized by the Hubster before he left. My next organizing spot is going to be the kitchen! It’s crazy and things are in weird places that don’t make sense!
We have been doing lots as a family! The Y has been a great place for some fun & healthy family time! The pool and Racquetball have been our favorites so far. Even if I’m a little challenged in the racquetball department! I may or may not have been hit a few times! I also may or may not have hit the Hubster a few times, which I swear was a total accident and not paybacks. (for real I don’t think I could’ve hit him on purpose if I wanted to)
I plan to post a monthly update at the end of every month with my progress.
ENJOY!

New Years Resolutions

Did you make any New Year’s Resolutions? Do you even make them? I always have and probably always will even though I don’t always keep them! I thought this year I would share them with all of you and maybe that will help me to stay on track a little better! MAYBE!

So here they are in no Particular order…

Get Healthy~

So I’m overweight, I have been for a few years, ok 12 almost 13 which is exactly the age of my son coincidence? I think not, however blaming my weight on my pregnancy that was over a decade ago is well it just doesn’t work anymore. So I’m going to take the steps I need too to get into a healthier place. I’m going to be working out and making better food choices. Which I plan on sharing with you!

Be More Organized~

Ok I dream of being one of those people whose houses are spotless and organized beyond belief. Who when someone calls to say they are coming over they don’t have to do a mad dash to clean and pick things up and shove them in a room and close the door somewhere! I love it when the house is clean and I feel better when the clutter is gone. HOWEVER, I guess maybe I’m a little lazy? Because I never seem to have everything done at the same time. There is always dog hair everywhere and organized is not how I would describe my house. BUT this year my goal is to get things put where they belong and to just have things cleaner, neater more organizeder (it’s a word)!
Family Time is Sacred Time

Do more as a Family~

This is going to be a tough one since 1/3 of our Family is going to be gone. The Hubster is going to deploy soon and I feel like we need to make every moment count. I also feel like while he is gone it’s easy for my son & me to get into a routine of doing a whole lot of nothing. He’s at the age where TV and X-box are a lot more fun than Mom! So I want to find ways that a tween about to be a teen and his Mom can do things that he won’t think are completely lame! This one maybe the hardest yet!

So those are my Resolutions… I’ll be updating you on the progress I’m making. I’m going to be sharing any tips, tricks or fun things I find with you as well… Did you make any Resolutions share them with me…?

ENJOY!
